Gerry and I both had vivid dreams lately.
1. I had a dream recently that I was talking to my doctor a few weeks after a transfer of our latest frozen embryos on hold. She asked if I knew how many embryos there are in me. I said one (we had discussed only single transfers now because of the high chance of twins). She asked me again "how many do you think are in there?" My jaw dropped and I knew there was now two - we're having twins, oh shit. I told Gerry about the dream the next morning, and he didn't get it at first. I told him the embryo cells had split - so identical twins!
2. My other dream was shortly after my cousins, baby, toddler, and golden labrador (Lou) visited for a weekend. I dreamed that Lou impregnated Moshi. First Moshi gave birth to 3-4 puppies with beagle-like but narrow faces with golden highlights in its fur. The puppies were swaddled in blankets in my arms and they soon turned into one chubby cheeked olive skinned baby with big round eyes and black hair. Everyone thought it was a puppy, as did we, but it felt like our child and the pitying eyes from everyone around us was evident. It was also clear in my dream that we were now grandparents since Moshi is our dog-ghter....
3. Gerry dreamed that we adopted a very cute baby who had downs syndrome. Moshi just loved her and decided to adopt a mouse. She then snuggled with the mouse as she does with her toy duck that she absolutely loves.
We all have our own version of family, don't we?
